The low carb candy out there hardly has any carbs, so does it really matter how many pieces I have in a day? I know calories aren't suppose to count, just carbs, so does it matter where my carbs come from? I had an Atkins low carb candy last night before I went to bed. It had like .06 carbs in each piece. I woke up this morning and weighed myself and it said I gained half a pound. I also had a diet root beer before I went to bed, so could the low carb candy and the diet soda cause me to gain half a pound? Or maybe it's water weight?

Low carb candy is really low carb. They don't count things like sugar alcohol and malitol, but you have to. Stay away from those things, they will stall your weight loss or cause you to gain. Please eat only healthy, fresh food. Your carbs should be comming from fresh veggies. Do you eat 3 cups veggies a day? Did you read the book? Please, stay away from those bars, shakes, and candys, they are NOT GOOD FOR YOU! You are worth more than that, you are worth healthy wholesome foods. Try some cream cheese and splenda if you need a 'sweet fix'. Do you drink your water? I drink at least 100oz a day. Try not to drink diet soda, it really better to drink water. Also, you are only allowed 3 servings of sweetener a day. Can you list a days menu?
What would we do without it?

Really the low carb candy can make you gain? I have heard they can make you stall. But they hardly have any carbs in them. I don't eat them every day, just every once in a while is nice. I also have diet soda every once in a while. I've always been a huge water drinker. I do try to get my 3 cups of salad in a day.For example; yesterday I had two cups of salad plus a stick of celery. How come the bars are so bad for you?

How was the soda sweetened? And the bars are bad because not only do they cause bloat, but sugar alcohols affect everyone differently. They may have the full impact on you as do normal carbs, so to be cautious it's smart to count them.
Candy bars subtract fiber carbs and sugar alcohol carbs.230/154?

If I did in fact gain that half pound and it wasn't water weight or whatever, I think I know why. I had an atkin bar yesterday and two candies. That is too much fake chocolate products. I had candy a few days ago and didn't gain weight but kept losing, so perhaps because I had that one bad day of too many fake products, I gained. I have a bit of a sweet tooth so I think my plan is to allow myself only a few pieces of chocolate a week and not every day and if I really need something sweet, I have jello.

I would say eat something else...like food ..with the limitations you are under trying to stick with this ...changing in the beginning should include avoiding all processed foods and just have what is on that list...I truly believe this is a huge learning tree here ...learning how to eat great food that fuels your body ..fresh and natural food...candy and soda you are just substituting one junk food for the other and there is not nutrition in candy and soda
my advice only put good food into your body ...later when you are at goal you can pick nd choose what you want in your life in the way of these things but for now ...I would say give those up..but that is my opinion

I am glad you are reading the book, eating veggies, and drinking water! That is great. If you need to feed the 'sweet tooth', you could try some Atkins friendly treats. The mock danish is great, or you could take 2 tablespoons of cream cheese and sweeten it with Splenda. Keep up the good work, and try to cut down on the low carb candies.

I am dropping all the candies out for now until I start to lose weight again. I had a few too many little candies last night and my stomach was hurting, so I'm pretty much turned off to the candies right now, which is great! On sunday I gained half a pound and I am trying to get rid of that.
