Carb Karma- Ben and Jerry's

As a major treat I had myself some Ben and Jerry's "Carb Karma" Half baked ice cream. Oh my god was it good. It was not completly legal however, it didnt have any sugar but it had food starch or a type of flour or something (I cant remember). Only as a huge splurge/treat will this go through my lips and man was it worth it!

Eh, wasn't worth it for me when I tried it. This stuff caused me to react as if I had eaten real carbs, plus, it doesn't taste all that wonderful.

Now, the Atkins Endulge Ice cream is not quite as good, but had none of the bad effects of the B&J stuff for me, so I stick with that for ice cream treats.

Being a WILD and CRAZY Ben and Jerrys fan, I was a little disappointed also. I didn't think it was the best they could do.
The best thing about Ben and Jerrys is that it comes in little tubs cause I would sit and eat a whole gallon if it came like that. In the old days, pre Atkins that is.

On the rare occassion that I did eat ice cream before this WOL my absolute favorite was Chunky Monkey--now if they come out w/ a low carb version of that I'm going to be in trouble! :yes

I thought this ice cream tasted great but had an awful after taste.

I remember the flavor being sub-par, but the texture being good.

This is in stark contrast to the Atkins Ice Cream, which has a wonderful flavor, but an awful texture.

Now, if only someone could get both right...

What about the carb sense ice cream that Braums has? Has anyone had an oppurtunity to try any of the flavors they have made available?

Edy's makes a devine mint choc chip ice cream- great texture, amazing taste.

Blue Bunnys mint chocolate chip is also verrryyy good.

Regarding the Brahm's question, their low carb ice cream is very good, I had the chocolate almond. This was during my quazi low carb diet. Also if you live in Texas, Blue Bell makes a low carb Moolinium Crunch that is to die for (unfortunately I was stopped up for a week, and when I did have a "movement" it reminded me of childbirth.... :yikes *sorry to be so blunt*).

The Atkin's butter pecan is my favorite. But I'm going to lay off of that stuff for a good long while, because it just gets me to thinking about all the high carb things.

Also has anyone tried the Klondike low carb bars? Those are great! You can't tell the difference.

I agree! edy's has the best so far . Mint Choc Chip is to die for..

I love BNJ but I love to heavy , cheat ice creams .. like New York

Super Fudge Chunk or Cookie dough.. ah those are good lol but not

allowed. If you eat , a cone which has nothing and very LITTLE carbs

I mean like 2... and some of that ice cream , it's a great treat

So then Karb Karma hasn't been discontinued? It was all around town here in Toronto...up until this past weekend when I went looking for and couldn't find it anywhere. I even looked up on the B&J site, but could find no mention of it AT ALL - not even in the flavour graveyard.

If someone gives me hope, then I shall continue the quest.

Hey Devi, I'm quite sure i saw BnJ karb karma at the loblaws or Shoppers drug mart near my house (toronto/east end). will be at loblaws tomorrow and will check, i'll let you know.

Thanks! Was just at Loblaws at Queens Quay last night and they didn't have it. Although I picked up some Skinny Cow Carb Select Carmel & Almond Ice Cream Pops. They were ok. Enough to sate my sweet tooth. Can't wait for the B&J though!!
