just remember in the human body excess protein is coverted to sugar for storage so you are basically adding "carbs" if you get too much.

hello rude! most people will tell you, me included, that the shakes and bars, aren't really good for induction. Could you make up some bacon and boiled eggs ahead of time and stick them in the cooler? And how bout some broccoli and cauliflower to munch on as well? Toss in some cheese for a snack. I know it sounds kind of plain jane but it'd still fill you up and you wouldn't be starving when you got off work. Good luck to you!

Protein shakes and bars seem to stall me. I don't use them.

What about making a flax muffin if you're in a rush? I freeze mine and heat them in them in the microwave when I need a fast snack or something to go with my eggs. (Tastes like a bran muffin.)

            Re: protein shakes

I believe the protein shakes this poster referred to were made with protein powder and other ingredients, rather than the pre-mixed or "just mix with water or milk" variety.

Of course, one would have to guage the ingredients based on what level you were currently at, as the addition of berries would not be until that level of OWL, for example.

              Re: protein shakes

Hi! I use to drink the proteing shakes from EAS. The carb smart ones. 2gs carbs per 11oz serving. Now for breakfast I drink an Atkins Advantage drink and have some pre-cooked jimmy dean sausage. Like 2g carbs per 3 sausages.

I know the shake say's it's good for all phases of the atkins diet but it just seems shady. It's very sweet and good....lol. Has Maltodextrin in it and I've heard that just about anything with the word MALTO is a no-no. Also they have 15g protein per shake.

Hopefully someone else can shed more light. Just thought I would throw that shake out there for you. BTW, the carb smart shake from EAS has 17g of proteing but it's thinner in body and not as good as the atkins shake.

                Re: protein shakes

I'm one of the lucky ones that the shakes don't stall me.

I just use them though in an emergency when I really don't have time to eat something for breakfast. They aren't an everyday thing for me.

This is very individual. You could give them a try now and again and see what the results are for you.

As an earlier poster suggested...hard boil some eggs and make up some flax muffins, something you can grab and go.
