    One Carb Ketchup

This looks induction legal to me, but I wanted to make sure. With a little horseradish it would make great cocktail sauce for shrimp!

Pour It On... Now you can pour on the Heinz Ketchup without piling on carbs or calories. That’s because Heinz has introduced Heinz One Carb Ketchup. The product has – you guessed it – one gram of total carbohydrates per serving vs. four grams per serving in traditional Heinz Ketchup. And Heinz One Carb Ketchup is no one-trick pony. The condiment also has 75 percent less sugar and only one-third the calories of the traditional variety. Probably the only thing it doesn’t have less of is flavor – the taste of One Carb Ketchup is comparable to the classic Heinz version. 14 oz. Squeeze Bottle

Nutrition facts: serving size 1 tbsp (16g), servings per container about 25:

    calories 5, fat calories 0, total fat 0, sodium 190mg, total carbs 1g, fiber 0, sugars 0, protein 0.

Ingredients: Tomato concentrate made from red ripe tomatoes, distilled vinegar, salt, onion powder spice, sucralose, natural flavoring.

I've used it on occasion...when I make meatloaf usually. It's got a good flavor.

Hum...I wonder if we could make our own? A can of tomato sauce is only 40 cents and I have everything else in the ingredients on hand...

(I've looked for this and can't find it at my local grocery or at Wal-Mart.)

There are recipes for low carb ketchup on Linda's site or in the food and cooking chat.

Do they still make this stuff? I haven't seen it in my local groceries for a very long time.

I always get confused when they say 0 sugar, but it contains sucralose (which is a sugar). Maybe it's not enough to impact anything.

I think it has a good taste. I mix it up with a bit of Franks hot sauce to use for my taco sauce.

I love this stuff! It is the only frankenfood I buy.

On a side note. I didn't know Sucralose is Splenda!!! I learn something every day.

Me too! I'm not a huge ketchup eater but some things I just love it for. I've been making a lot of cocktail sauce for shrimp, and I love a little ketchup on scrambled eggs. I've been able to find it at most of the stores here so I hope they don't stop making it. I was thinking of trying the recipe for ketchup on the low-carb site too.

See.. you've probably passed up things you could have had! Mount Olive makes some pickles with splenda too. It's great to be able to endulge in a bread and butter pickle now and then.
