  • Low Carb Pasta

Can anyone give me any advice about using Dreamfields low carb Pasta. I'm not sure if I should be using this or not.
    Thanks,
    Mariet. :help

If you're on Induction, you cannot use it. You need to print off the Acceptable Foods List and eat NOTHING that's not on that list. That keeps things pretty simple, and will keep you away from these "frankenfoods". It's to your benefit if you eat good whole foods -- the Acceptable Foods List -- during Induction. If you don't have a copy of DANDR, you can go into the FAQ forum here and print off the list.

It's such an easy WOE to stick to -- because you have a list of foods you can eat -- and simply don't eat anything that's not on that list.

Keep us posted on how you're doing!

I started the atkins way of life March 24, 2002. I started out at 160 and I'm currently 115. I've maintained my weight for over a year until recently. I did weigh 110. I don't eat pasta or bread. but I did try the Dreamfeilds pasta and only had it about 3 times in a 2 week period and gained a few pounds. I'm not sure if it was just from that or just over doing it in other areas also. I'm just not sure if it was a recomended type of thing or not.
      Thanks for your help,
      Marie T.

I was wondering about that brand? It says like 47 carbs, 10 fiber, 0 sugar alchs. and 32 "non digestible carbs?" ensive (I'm listing the numbers by memory, but it was pretty close to that) What is that? Am I missing some thing here? Last time I checked there is wasn't such thing? The box clearly read "5 net carbs per serving"? can anyone explain what undigestible carbs are if they are not fiber or sugar alchs.?

ok, I searched for it and found this info http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/gi/dyn...ieldsfoods.com

Are they really trying to pass this off as 5 net carbs?

Man, if this is correct, why haven't I heard of it before now?

I've only been maintaing since Christmas so I'm no expert, but I use Dreamfields pasta a couple of times a week and have had no problems with it. In fact, I've lost 2 more pounds. That said, I think that as in everything else portion control is important. I only cook one portion at a time so no chance of over doing. I also monitored myself carefully the first few times I ate it to make sure it didn't set off any cravings.

Everybody, and every body is different. What works for me might not work for you. I can't eat anything with sugar alcohols for example and avoid them.

some folk react to the special matrix carbs and some don't. Mostly it will be a delayed effect as the soluble fiber in the stuff will slow down any effect and give you a delayed blood sugar effect. The slower your bowels seem to act the higher the sugar does you inccur. The spike is at the 4-5 hour mark so be careful untill you know how it effects you as an individual. I use the Muelers lower carb stuff at 19 a serving for me.
Dana Carpender reviewed the stuff on her HOLDTHETOAST site.

A big thank-you to everyone who helped. I think I just over did it in other areas. I started working out 4 times a week and I;m getting back in the grove again and feel great. Thanks again for the help!

                  Dreamfields.......

I ate it (before re-starting Induction - I was going for Low Carb but then decided to a strict Induction for better results!) - I guess my body wouldn't digest Dreamfields......I too read the box and saw 42 grams of carbs with the big bold print on the front of 5 net grams. Literally, the porcelain throne and I were friends - in a one day time frame - 12 - yes, TWELVE, times.

I will not be eating that again - even on OWL. I had purchased 2 boxes and gave the 2nd box to a girl I work with - she says her family loves it - kids included.

It probably just wasn't right for me.

This stuff is GREAT. Tried other brands and they taste like dirt or eating leaves. This is REAL PASTA. Better than some brands with full carbs and as good as ANY full carb brand. High recommendation
