    Has anyone tried to low carb beer Michelob Ultra? I am new to this diet and was wondering if I could have a beer or 2 during the induction phase? Can anyone assist me with this answer?

    No alcohol allowed at all during induction and shouldn't be added back in until you've reached the 5th rung of the carbohydrate ladder.

      thanks! how long did it take you to lose your weight? I have been doing the atkins for 14 days and I lost 7 pounds. I think I am doing something wrong. Everyone else that I am dieting with has lost between 10 and 14 pounds during the induction phase.

        It's going to depend on how much you have to lose as well as your bodies metabolic resistance - read your DANDR it's well explained in there.

        I lost 10 lbs on induction, 7 lbs the first week and then 3 the second week. I lost 9 and a half inches during those 2 weeks so I was very happy with the results. Tomorrow will be the end of week six and I'll weigh again then - that will be my official number. At one month as well as last week I was at 14 lbs lost. Yesterday morning it looked like I've lost another pound but I only count the weigh ins that I have on tuesdays - the actual weekly mark and I didn't weigh today. I've added in a few OWL foods for variety but I'm sticking at rung 2 of OWL for the next month or so and that may have helped the slowdown but it's still a good pace and i'm happy with the results.

        How's the tape measure doing?

          I have lost 2-3 inches off of my waist and thighs and I can see a difference in my body but not like I had expected. I wanted to lose more. I only want to lose another 15 pounds so I can reach 120. I am only 5'1 and those added kid pounds gots to go! I am sick of feeling fat and ugly! I am working so hard to do this diet but I feel like I am messing up somehow. I have read the book but I guess I have a slow metabolism or something. Maybe I should do the induction phase for another week?

            Are you taking vitamins? I read somewhere that L-Carnitine & Co-En.Q10 are supposed to help you lose weight during induction.
