  • Other Keto Products

Has anyone had experience with other Keto products such as spaghetti, orange juice, crisp cereal, white milk, pudding and bread machine french loaf? In Canada we can only get a small variety of Keto products, until they resolve their labeling problem into Canada.

I tried the Keto Milk today with protein powder - for a shake. Also added Atkins Root Beer syrup - it was fine. I usually make it with cream, but I wanted something a little less rich. I couldn't tell it was made with Keto Milk - it had no particular taste at all.

I've tried a bunch of the Keto products. Some of them are not suitable for Induction, etc. My favorite one is the Black Raspberry Ice Cream. I eat a 1/2 cup serving (4 net carbs) in an ice cream cone (3 net carbs) most evenings. I have exciting plans for the future involving the Vanilla mix and DaVinci's gingerbread syrup. I had experimented with a number of low carb ice cream recipes, but since the Keto mix involves less steps and makes me happy, I'm sticking with it.

The Blueberry Cheesecake Bars are my second favorite of any brand, right behind the Atkins Morning Start Creamy Cinnamon Buns flavor. That said, they're not terrific. I'm simply able to finish eating one, which is just not true for most brands' bars.

The flavoring on the Cool Ranch Tortilla Chips is pretty yummy, but the chips themselves have a very light, almost wispy texture. I never ate chips much anyway, so I am hardly distraught by not liking these. They'd be great to pack in a lunch for someone who doesn't have access to a fridge though.

The Keto Pizza Dough Mix seemed like it might theoretically taste okay. But. I made the dough in my bread machine, went to roll it out, and, uh, couldn't. I managed to get it rolled enough to stretch over about 2/3 of my 11" pizza pan. Tried to bake the pizza anyway, but some of it was all burny while other bits were still doughy.

The Keto Pasta Shells were just horrid. I switched to Bella Vita Low Carb Pasta (bought at Trader Joe's). It's actually quite delicious. It could probably pass, even. I like to fry my pasta for a minute in a bit of olive oil and oregano after putting it through the strainer. Tastes marvelous.

The Classic Keto Frosted Flakes tasted like a manila folder (i.e. worse than cardboard).

I used the Banana Keto Mix for Muffins and Pancakes to make muffins. The muffins were, well, damp. Like, they were really buttery and had a strange (bananaesque) aftertaste. I later discovered Ketogenics Blueberry Muffins (bought at The Vitamin Shoppe), which have since become 1/2 of my daily breakfast. Those muffins ere on the dry side, but if I'm having a glass of water at the same time, I don't notice. The other really great thing about those muffins is that the blueberries come in a little tin. That was immediately a good sign. They taste quite similar to the Betty Crocker Sweet Rewards Muffins I used to make back in my low fat/brainwashed period.

I eat Keto Raspberry Fruit Spread as part of my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. It's very innocuous tasting. Tastes like jam. All good.

I actually threw the Keto Cinnamon Raisin Bread mix into the machine a little while ago. Haven't tried it yet, but it smells good, at least.

      Hope this helps you out.

Keto Apple Cinnamon Frosted Flakes - Lesson Learned.

On the outside of the box they look like Kellogg's. Light, crispy, airy.

I was so excited when I bought them, I couldn't wait to get home so I opened the box in the car on my way home.

When I opened it up, the things inside look like small light colored cow pie's. Thick, uneven globs of an unknown substance.

When I tasted one, I literally couldn't swallow it. Here I am going down the road, trying to find something I could spit this stuff out in. The only thing within reaching distance was the box of cereal and so there was $5 dollars wasted. But, an important lesson learned.

Don't try eating new products while driving down the road.
