  • The FDA Allows Stevia in Beverages

Manufacturer's must still label Stevia as a supplement, but some new products are coming!

Coca-Cola Company is introducing Sprint Green in Chicago and New York. The product has stevia, but it also says it has 40 calories.

SoBe is introducing it's vitamin Lifewater in zero calories, sweetened with Stevia. (Supplemented I mean).

A completely new product is called Zevia and it's available in stores now. They have cola, rootbeer, orange, and lemon lime flavors.

I tried the Zevia and it's good! The cola was my least favorite, but the orange and root beer are excellent. I put a tablespoon of cream in the orange, and it tasted like creamcicle. I'll put cream in the rootbeer tonight and see if it tastes like a float.

    The orange can says:

A Natural Alternative to Diet Soda
Zero calories, carbs, sodium, fat, caffeine and zero on the glycemic index.
Ingredients: Triple filtered carbonated water, natural erythritol, citric acid, natural flavor (orange oil), stevia (leaf), and annato.

The Zevia website has a store locator. www.Zevia.com

The FDA has approved stevia as a sweetener and SweetLeaf stevia, my favorite brand, was the first to receive GRAS status! I love it in smoothies! They also have liquid stevia in various flavors like, chocolate, dark chocolate, chocolate raspberry, vanilla creme, orange valencia, lemon drop, peppermint, and root beer!
