  • LowCarb "Milk"

I found a lowcarb dairy drink at Walmart this morning. It's called "Carb Countdown" and it's only 3 net carbs a cup. It tastes pretty good and dosen't cost too much more than regular milk ($2.50 a half gallon). The company that makes it is called Hood.
Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

For ages now I have been drinking soy milk thinking it was good for me. I have just started on Atkins and a few minutes ago I got out my last carton and had a look at the nutrition info. Yikes!!!!! In 1 liter there are only 8 grams of fat, but ... 22 grams of carbs and 12.3 grams of sugar (fructose and cane sugar). I just LOVE it but it seems as though it's history now! Has anyone else been using soy milk (before or during Atkins)?

Also, because I don't live in the US can anyone tell me if the Atkins products are available internationally?

      Cheers, Jan.

They now make lo-carb soy milk with Splenda.
Also there is unsweetened soy available. Just add your own sweetener.

Thanks for that Iap - trouble is, I live in New Zealand so I'll have to check out the local products.

How's Seattle these days? It was my first stop off when I came from NZ to live in the States and I thought it was a great place. We now have a tower in Auckland very much like your space needle so it reminds me of the time I spent in your city. You're looking good - keep it up! Cheers, Jan.

Soy milks differ greatly from one brand to another. You'll just have to shop around. Beware of the flavored ones as they do usually have sugar added.

The one we use most often has only 0.9 carbs and 1.2 fibers per 100g!
