  • Total carbs in my sauce.

I have the Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Wing Sauce. It says it has 0g of carbs and 0g of sugars. Should I trust the label? Do you think there are more carbs there per serving?

There definitely are some carbs per serving (not 0), because the sauce is made with cayenne peppers and has some spices in it. Peppers have carbs and spices have carbs too. Besides, those 5 calories per tablespoon must come from somewhere, so the protein, fat and carbs cannot all be zero.

On US labels, if the carbs are below 0.5 g per serving, they can be listed as 0. So there could be 0.1 carbs per serving or 0.499999999999 carbs per serving, but you wouldn't know. If you eat more servings, the carbs add up. To be on the safe side, I'd count each serving as 0.4-0.5 carbs.

Also be careful with the amount of sodium in this product. I see there are 460 mg per tablespoon. Too much sodium might cause water retention.
