  • Have you seen the new Atkins ice creams?

Today my grocery did not have vanilla or chocolate 4-cups-to-a-box packages of ice cream. They have been replaced by pint containers of various different flavors! There is now, in addition to vanilla and chocolate, butter pecan, fudge swirl, and I think some others. On the shelf below there were fudgesicle looking bars by Atkins. So I guess the ice cream line is expanding! Have not tried the butter pecan yet, but fingers crossed

I saw it, it looks good, but I left it in the store. I'm not ready for SWEETS yet, even if they're safe. But it will be nice to have in the future.

Our new SuperWalmart opened last week and had all the Atkins, ice creams. milk, etc... They also had 2-3 other brands of low carb ice cream. I have to go back and look at the name but one has 6 carbs listed and no sugar alcohols listed. Sounded too good to be true

        yum!

Our WalMart doesn't carry the Atkins stuff but our grocery stores do.

Sending this to him right now!

My fiance got me the chocolate peanut butter swirl ice cream. It's amazing! No aftertaste, it's not too sweet, it's incredibly flavorful, and it's so rich that I couldn't even get through a 1/2 cup serving in one sitting. It's over $3.00 per pint, but I'd say after tasting it, that it's well worth it. :smileangel

(this coming from the girl who used to eat a whole cereal bowl of Moose Tracks with whipped cream in one sitting) :boom

I saw the Atkins ice cream at our Giant Food store, but guess what else I saw? Breyers Low Carb ice cream! It has 4 net cars per 1/2 cup. They have chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry from what I saw.

Be careful about the Breyer's CarbSmart ice creams. The third ingredient is HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP. Splenda is listed near the the bottom of the ingredient list. Generally the ingredients are listed in order of how much is used in the product.

I just got the vanilla flavor. It's a little TOO sweet, aside from that it's pretty nice.

                  The ice creams

I'm not fond of the Bryers, my husband insists the chocolate is great.

As far as the new Skinny Cow bars, the chocolate peanut butter is wonderful. The vanilla is ehh.

The Atkins ice cream is pretty good. The ice cream bars are very good

I've tried the Atkins butter pecan....it's not bad but it left a slight after-taste which wasn't very pleasant.

Down here in Florida, our Publix stores now carry a VERY good ice cream product called "Carbwise"...they have the vanilla bars dipped in chocolate (5 carbs per bar and the bars are the size of regular ice cream bars!!!)and also the fudge bars (which I think have 2 carbs per bar). The vanilla bars are excellent!!! I haven't tried the fudge bars yet....when I do (which will be soon, I'm sure), I'll post the taste results!!!

                      Oops....

...I need to make a correction to the ice cream info. I gave yesterday.... :grimble

The ice cream and fudge bars I spoke of yesterday are made by Klondike and they're called "CarbSmart".

                      Sorry!
