i make these as cookies rather than muffins....any tips on how to make them crispier?

how do you make them as cookies rather than muffins? I don't like the nuts so I thought the next time I made it I would sift out the nuts. But wow, cookies, never thought of that! please share
and on the crispier thing, maybe cook them just a tad lower temp for a little longer, maybe...i'm not a culinary expert though!
