  • Bacon Cheeseburger Quiche

This is another recepie that I had in my recepie book. I don't know who the author of it is.

    1 lb. hamburger
    1 small chopped onion
4 slices crisp-cooked bacon, chopped in bits
    3 eggs
    1/2 cup mayonnaise
    1/2 cup half-n-half
8 oz. shredded chedder or swiss cheese
    garlic powder to taste (optional)
    white pepper

Brown hamburger in skillet with onion. Remove and mix in bowl with bacon pieces, breaking up any larger clumps with a fork or pastry mixer until you have a fine mix. Drain well of any excess grease and press into the bottom of a deep-dish pie pan. Set aside.

    Preheat oven to 350

Combine remaining ingredients in mixer bowl and whip well. Pour mixture over beef "crust" and bake 40-45 minutes until top is browned and "set". Cool 15-20 minutes before slicing. This can be packaged in Ziplocs or plastic containers for meals quickly microwaved over the next 3-5 days. (Does not freeze well, though.)

Serves 6. 2 grams per serving

I made a variation of this last night and it was yummy! I had it for breakfast & lunch today.

I used lean ground turkey (instead of hamburger), 5 eggs (instead of 3), heavy cream (instead of half & half), sliced mushrooms and drained frozen spinach, no onion or bacon.

        yummmmmm :P

          this is a great recipe.
I also made my own version. I cooked the meat in taco seasoning and replaced the bacon with green chilies. then when it was done and still hot, I topped it with fresh lettuce, shredded cheese, avacado, sour cream and a little taco sauce.
          yummy!

This was so yummy! I made it the way GoGAG made it. The only thing I'm going to change next time is I'm going to use onion powder to make it more kid friendly at my house. I had to pick out the onions for 2 of my kiddos.

Super tasty and easy to make!
