  • Green Chili Cheeseburger

Okay this is awesome, but it takes a little work. I got it out of this months Sunset Magazine.

You need to get 2 of those large green chiles called Pasillas and over a gas burner char them and then place in a bag. In about a half hour you can skin em and chop fine. Add it to 1/1/2 pounds good ground chuck and also add about a cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Salt and pepper and form into paddies.

Grill or fry or broil. OMG they were delicious, and if you want to make it even cheesier, add a slice of cheddar to the top and let melt.

Next week Im doing the Gorgonzola Burgers.

Hmm, this site says that capsicums are bell peppers

Yep thats them MOG. They are not at all hot, but I bet you can do it with any large pepper.

I don't think thay I would do it with bell peppers, they have a little different taste. These taste more like the canned green chilis. In fact, in a pinch, you could probably use the canned variety.

Here is another site, are they the cherry hots? BTW this is a great source for seeds if you like to grow your own, a lot of their seeds are organic as well!

I betcha our Mexibells would be good in that recipe, they're a cross between a jalepeno and a bell pepper, they have just enough bite to make them interesting but they're not too hot. Although I've never tried roasting them. Hmm I may have to try that!

OH, I like that site Lynne. Check out the Habeneros, The ones in my garden look awesome, except that they are still green. Does anyone know if I should pick them while they're green or wait for them to turn orange/yellow?

                    Re: Green Chili Cheeseburger

the longer you wait and the more stress you apply to them the hotter they get MOG seems their genetics program them for more heat to save the seeds from getting eatten in times of stress according to my chilli pepper site when I was first starting my beds.

Mine cherry bombs are the round cherry peppers on Lynne's site.
