  • Need a good recipe for BAKED SALMON

Anyone have a good recipe for baked salmon? We usually BBQ or broil it, getting tired of it though.

Funny you should ask, we usually buy Costco frozen steaks, but this time they were a different cut unbeknownst to us...sort of a cross between a steak and a filet...about 1/2 inch thick!

Well then LOL here you go:

some one my faves (my Dad was a big salmon fisherman)

        1 whole salmon fillet
        1/2 lemon
1/4 cup mayonnaise (you can add a TBSP of dijon if you like mustard
        Salt & pepper to taste
        1 onion, sliced
        2TBSP Olive Oil

Cover bottom of baking dish with oil, put fillet in pan skin side down (if it has skin). Salt and pepper lightly. Spread mayonnaise over fillet, salt and pepper. Place onion slices on top and squeeze fresh lemon over top. Bake at 350° uncovered For approximately 20 minutes or until salmon flakes.

I like to wrap mine in tin foil and either throw in the oven or grill it.

I usually rub butter into the fillet, throw some fresh dill on :yes , squeeze lemon(I'm a lemon hog) over it, throw some garlic salt and a bit of cracked pepper, wrap it up, cook for about 20min and voila.

I haven't made it since I have been on Induction, but I'm pretty sure it's Induction friendly too. :nod

This is DieselBud's recipe with a slight variation, instead of mayo use sour cream. A friend of mine was just ranting and raving about how good the sour cream was.

              1 whole salmon fillet
              1/2 lemon
              1/4 cup sour cream
              Salt & pepper to taste
              1 onion, sliced
              2TBSP Olive Oil

Cover bottom of baking dish with oil, put fillet in pan skin side down (if it has skin). Salt and pepper lightly. Spread mayonnaise over fillet, salt and pepper. Place onion slices on top and squeeze fresh lemon over top. Bake at 350? uncovered For approximately 20 minutes or until salmon flakes.

I used to marinate and grill, but now I just grill like this - delish.
Coat the filet with salt pepper and garlic powder on both sides then grill. Flavor is great!
