  • Bacon and Cheese Wrapped Sausages

    Bacon and Cheese Wrapped Sausages
    (Yield: 2 servings)

    1 Carb Per Serving *if extra cheese added be sure to add to carb count
    238 Calories Per Serving


    2 Sausages (make sure that no sugar or added carbs in ingredients)
    2 tbsp Olive Oil
    2 oz. Sharp cheddar cheese chunks
    2 slices back bacon (not smoked as this usually contains sugar) stretched on the back of a knife

    - Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
    - Heat the oil in a frying pan over a med heat, add sausages and cook them for about 5 min, so that all of the sides are brown and cooked through.
    - Remove from pan and cool. Once cool enough to handle, make slits lengthways down each sausage.
    - Stuff the cheese then wrap with bacon (spiral over sausage)
    - Place in over for 5-10 min, or until the bacon is nice and crispy and the sausages are cooked through
    - Remove from the oven and serve on a warm plate.

    What kind of sausage did you use? Like the big kind like Kielbasa??

      Well I get them from my fiance's aunt's meat shop. She makes them specifically w/o wheat or smoke for me. They are a smokie sausage type (the size of a big hot dog)

      I would think that kielbasa would work though! Anything w/o the bad stuff is fine and that way you can get creative!
