I have Moussaka about ready to go in the oven and I just realised. I can't make the white sauce without flour. Can I use eggs or something to thicken the gravy?!?!

Re: White sauce emergency!!!!
Thanks, I used an egg yoke and butter sauce for the base of the traditional white sauce. Not as thick but very good. Next time I'll half the cream and the lamb. I'll also use a second yoke to thicken it more but the sauce was smooth and the cream and cheese melted together without any stringiness. I divided it up for a weeks worth of lunches after my sons three helpings. I think I made a bit much lol
