  • Shrimp cocktail sauce

I was messing around the other night and came up with this white cocktail sauce for shrimp. I've found it tastes nearly like the real thing.

The whole sauce is more or less something you'll have to mix to taste. Below are approximations which you should change to suit you.

You'll need to check your labels as your ingredients may have different carb ratings than mine.

    1 tbsp = about 1 carb

1 tbsp mayonnaise (I use Kraft)
1 tbsp horseradish sauce (I use Kraft)
1 tsp lemon juice (from fruit, not from concentrate)
    dash of salt & pepper
dash of soy sauce (not enough to turn it brown)

    Mix well and serve.

For variation in taste and texture, add dried shrimp to the mixture and chill it overnight.

I'd love to hear if you tried it and what you thought of it.

    Another shrimp sauce alternative

I have invented another low carb prawn cocktail sauce and it's dead simple.

Not sure how many carbs per serving, will depend on which ingredients you use but I think it is very low.

Caesar salad sauce (approx 2 tbsp)
    tomato paste (approx 1 tsp)
    tobasco (few drops)

Not sure if the ratio of caesar to tomato is right there but it does the trick.
