I got this recipe from a newspaper a couple of days ago and actually made it tonight and loved it! I will list the ingredients the way it was written because it also had the nutrition information. I actually used an 8-ounce strip steak that I bought on sale instead of the filet and halved the cream sauce since it was just me eating it (so I actually had two servings of everything based on the nutrition info below).
4 (4-ounce) filet mignon steaks
3 fresh jalapeno peppers, seeded and thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves, julienned
1 small onion, halved and thinly sliced
1 cup heavy cream
Cook/grill steaks the way you like. For the sauce, add a little olive oil to a pan. Over medium heat, saute the jalapenos, garlic and onion until softened (about 4-5 minutes). Add the cream and bring to a light boil and cook until slightly thickened and reduced.
