there's a restaurant down the street from my house that makes a 'world famous' stuffed hamburger. the only one i've ever had there was the popeye burger, stuffed with spinach, artichokes and cheese. its the only one ive had because i love it so much i never wanted anything else. i decided to try to make it, but i got lazy and decided instead of stuffing it, i'd just unstuff it, and top it with the stuffing instead.
fresh raw hamburger patty, mebbe 1/4-1/2lb
(i seasoned it with tony sachere's, garlic and onion powder)
canned spinach
feta cheese
just grilled the burger, and topped it with 1 spoonful of spinach (this is my first attempt at using canned spinach, i was always afraid of it lol) then top that all off with about an ounce of plain feta cheese. the popped it all in the microwave for about 30 seconds just to heat the spinach a bit, then sprinkled it with a little oregano.
wow. its super yummy. i didnt have any artichokes like at the restaurant but maybe i'll try that next time. but i will definately be making this again, and its just as good as stuffing a burger but with less hassle.
*note!* i really dont think it would be as good with a frozen patty, fresh is definately the way to go
