Sounds easy to do. And it sounds pretty tasty! I wonder if it would work in a slow cooker?

    Hi!

That does sound super easy ... and super GOOD!!

I, too, wonder if it would work in a slow cooker. I don't see why not! Hmmmmmmm ...

      Gee, that recipe sounds great!

About crockpot confit, I've made duck confit in a crockpot as well as the traditional oven method. The crockpot version was pretty good but I prefer the oven one. You need to transfer the cooked meat to a pan and roast in the oven a bit to brown the skin with the crockpot method. That was double work to me so I do the oven method.

It's worth a try though to see which one you like. Set the crockpot on low though.

Thanks for this recipe. It came at a good time too as my market isn't carrying duck legs anymore. Don't know why either. Maybe I was the only one buying them??

Mizski, ya know ... I was thinkin' the exact same thing, i.e. you'd have to transfer it all to the oven to get that crispy, golden brown effect.

Seems easy enough for the oven. I'm gunna give it a go this week.

        Tootles!

              Thank you so much!

I wonder? Does the chicken come out dry?

                Re: Garlic Chicken Confit---Induction Friendly

The chicken should come out juicy because it's slow cooked and it soaks in its own fat---so it's constantly being basted.

mizski, if you had to remove the meat from the crockpot and brown it in the oven.....you're right. It WOULD be easier just to do it all in the oven!

But how does the meat not dry out using a broiler pan. since the pan draws away fat. I've not used one before. [never could find one in the shops when i needed it..lol]

I think you don't use the raised grill part of the broiler pan and just use the bottom. I suspect you can use any shallow baking dish, but put it in a larger pan in case the juices overflow.

I'm trying this today... just finished the first hour at 225. Problem is... there's next to no fat in my pan. I thought it was going to be like running over with fat or something I just took standard Perdue leg quarters. We'll see how it comes out.
