  • Broccoli Ham and Cheese Casserole

I just made an awesome dish today, and had to put this up as soon as I finished it. I kinda stole it from a Pampered Chef recipe. I just left out the crossant rolls that go with. Okay so here are the ingredients.

    Broccoli Ham Cheese casserole

    1/2lb of ham
1 stalk of broccoli(cut off all the tops, throw stems away)
1 package of kraft shredded Swiss cheese
    2 tbs Grey Poupon mustard
    1/2 medium onion

This works well if you have a food chopper, but if not I suppose a food processor would come in handy because this needs to be chopped up really good. Chop everything: Broccoli tops, Onion and Ham first, and put into a casserole dish(or cooking stone). Mix around evenly. Add mustard, and cheese, and mix again. I saved enough cheese to sprinkle over the top of this. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for about 45-60 min.

I HATE broccoli but I will eat it up if its fixed this way...its a great dish for something different...plus it makes the entire house smell soo good! Enjoy!

That sounds like a good way to eat broccoli. How big is the package of Kraft swiss cheese?

Its a pre shredded packet of kraft swiss cheese. They usually have 2 different sizes..small and large. Its the small one. Im thinking 3 cups of it? You dont have to put that much in there. In fact I think I could have done without that much in there. Its very rich.

FYI, the shredded cheese is coated with corn starch to keep it from sticking together.

well! WELL!!! Keep away from the bag of cheese! KEEP AWAY FROM THE BAG OF CHEESE!

Tell me this isnt so...I eat cheese from the bag daily!! Does this mean im gonna have to start shredding my own cheese now? mann I HATE cutting the cheese much less shredding it! (No Pun intended!)

Weeeeell.....I much prefer someone else do the work, so pre-shredded cheese has a place in my diet, but a limited place. I use the food processor sometimes, because it is quicker, but since I don't coat mine with corn starch, it clumps together if I put it back in the fridge. Plus, it doesn't last horribly long that way, either.

Sorry, there's not a good answer

Im eating around 2 ounces a day. Have noticed that when I eat more cheese my weightloss slows. Actually I havent lost anything for a few weeks now. I just thought I was stalling. Maybe should cut out the cheese afterall. *sigh*

Some people are allergic to cheese.
Thankfully, I'm not one or I couldn't stick with this plan. Your options are to see you are allergic, then decide which is more important - losing faster or eating cheese.

Might not be that at all, though. Could be a normal fluctuation. Look at Dave's charts and you'll see that there are ups and downs, not a flat curve.

I would definately get an allergy test but right now its out of the question because 1. im unemployeed and 2. I dont have health insurance lol Allergy tests are expensive.

Im positive that I have them, I know im allergic to christmas trees of all things, and laundry detergent because I get terrible reactions. All I gotta say is thank god for the hypoallerginic detergents! lol No telling what else im allergic to. There could be a very good chance that I am allergic to cheese. I just love it so much! Im gonna try cutting it out for a week, and see if any weight comes off. If it does then I guess i'll know that I cant have cheese *sniff*
