  • Feta cheese dip!

I made the best ever dip for my cucumbers and peppers.....

Marinate Feta cheese overnight in olive oil, oregano and basil.

Drain and put feta into a food processor. Add 100 grams of sour cream, a little olive oil, salt, pepper and just a little bit of lime (or lemon).

That was so yummy....I also had it as a cold sauce with my chicken breast for dinner...

    That sounds really good.

I like feta with zahtar and olive oil.

    Zahtar:

    1/4 cup ground sumac, dry
    2 teaspoons dry thyme leaves
    1 teaspoon cumin seed
    1/2 teaspoon paprika
    1/4 teaspoon salt

Zahtar is a Middle Eastern spice blend. Sumac are the dried fruits of a plant. It has a lemony, sour taste.

I've never seen sumac sold on its own unless it was in a store with Middle Eastern goods. One of my supermarkets has a decent selection of foods in the internation aisle and at one time they sold zahtar.

It's a nice spice and the flavor is unique. The last time I had anything with zahtar in it was several years ago: a friend's wife made a Middle Eastern rice dish that used it as a spice.
