My version of "Cheese Whiz".
8 oz cream cheese
4 oz sharp cheddar cheese
1/3 cup sliced green onion
1 roasted red pepper (I use the kind from a jar), coarsely chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Grate or chop the cheddar and set aside.
Put the cream cheese into a food processor or blender. Process until smooth. Add the cheddar cheese and garlic powder and process until smooth. Add the remaining ingredients and pulse to the consistency you like.
Pack into a jar. Keep covered and refrigerate.
Uses:
As a dip for vegetables and pork rinds.
As a filling for an omelette or rolled inside deli meat slices.
Heat in the microwave and use as a sauce for broccoli, cauliflower or chicken.
As a topping for hamburger
As a filling for a stuffed chicken breast cutlet
Makes about 1 1/2 cups
Total carbs= 13, fiber=1, net carbs=12
per two tablespoon serving=about 1 carb
You can use a different cheese for the cheddar, but remember to adjust the carbs.
Also you can add jalapeno peppers or the like, but again remember to adjust the carbs.
(Whoops, had to edit because I made a mistake on the serving size..I originally gave you half of what it should be)
