  • Question re Gabi's Bread Recipe posted by Laura

Hi all, I am new to this forum...great place for information! So glad I found you.

I plan to try the recipe for Gabi's bread but I was confused about the serving numbers. At the bottom it says its 119 calories. Is this per SLICE or for TWO slices? Also, in the body of the original post, it says there are 3.4 carbs per slice; but in the list of values at the bottom, it says 5 gr. Usually these low-carb breads run about 60-80 calories per slice, a big difference from 119 calories. Does anyone know for sure how many carbs/calories per slice for this bread? Thanks so much for your help.

Sorry, I can't help. You may want to try putting the ingredients into fitday and see what it comes out to. I think that may work.

Mastercook will count the calories in the sugar even though the yeast will eat them all up during their rise. The serving counted seems to be for one standard slice of bread.

I hope that answers your question in a way that is helpful. I will need to do a bit of housecleaning on this thread after you've had a chance to look at it, but please feel free to ask more questions about recipes on the Recipe Requests board or on the thread for that particular recipe.
