  • Chinese style Orange chicken?

Ok, so I've finally made it through induction, but there's one food that I terribly miss. Orange chicken from one of those amercanized chinese places like "Panda Express", "Rice King," ect.

    Anyone have any substitute recipes?

I found a copycat recipe for the Panda version of it

I think the author screwed up because the "orange sauce" contains no orange-flavored ingredient. So I would substitute either orange extract of orange rind.

Of course, you'll have to get rid of the flour, cornstarch, and sugar the recipe includes as ingredients.

    Here's another recipe

Since it contains 1/2 of an orange, this will be legal during the "other fruit" rung of OWL.

      orange chicken

I have never had orange chicken... but I do have a great recipe that might just work.

its called chicken on a diet.

4 Chicken breasts or parts of choice I like thighs
1 Can of diet orange soda
      1/4 cup soy sauce
salt, pepper and garlic to taste

cover chicken pieces with salt, pepper and garlic powder place on a foil lined broiler pan. Mix orange soda and soy sauce pour over chicken.
Bake at 325 for 1 hour. Spoon sauce over chicken a few times while baking.
yummy sticky orangy chicken. I hope you give this recipe a try.
