  • THANK YOU BIKERGODDESS!!!!!

I just wanted to thank you for the Pizza recipe!
I saw it listed, and last night decided to make it for myself and made regular pizza for my two daughters and dh. DH even ventured to taste my pizza and commented on how similar to regular pizza it tasted.
Thanks for giving me yet another flavourful dish to keep me going at this way of eating!

You're welcome I love that recipe and end up having it about twice a month...

If anyone else is interested, here it is
    4 oz softened cream cheese
    4 eggs
    1/3 cup heavy cream
    1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
    1 tbs chives
1/2 tsp Italian or pizza seasoning
2 cups shredded cheese (I use mozzarella /cheddar mix)
1/2 tsp wet garlic or 1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup lowest carb tomato or pizza sauce
    1 cup mozzarella cheese
Toppings to taste (I use pepperoni, sausage, green olives, whatever!)

Beat together cream cheese and eggs till smooth.
Add cream, parmesan cheese and spices
Spray 13x9 glass baking dish with oil
Put 2 cups of shredded cheese in dish and pour egg mixt. over Bake at 375 for 30 minutes
Spread with sauce and then add your toppings
    Cover with mozzarella cheese
    Bake till browning and bubbly
Let stand for 5 minutes or so.

It really depends on what you put on it, but with pepperoni, black olives, and hamburger, it's about 5-6g per slice.

You can cut carbs by grating your own cheese, using tomato sauce instead of pizza sauce, leaving off olives, watching the brand of pepperoni, etc.

                Re: THANK YOU BIKERGODDESS!!!!!

Sorry, haven't been following up on this thread. To be honest, other than the toppings, I have no clue how you can modify the recipe.

The crust is very quiche-like. It vaguely resembles deep dish pizza and isn't crisp at all. I've not had the mock danish, so I can't comment on that.

This is the best, and I love it also and vary the toppings. I have been toying with the idea of using the crust for an enchilada base with maybe a little cumin instead of italial Seasoning and white cheese. Then on top layering onions and chicken and cheese and enchilada sause. When I try it Ill let you know how it works.

                      Re: THANK YOU BIKERGODDESS!!!!!

I've been thinking of turning it into a taco pie. On the crust I'd omit the italian seasonings and add cumin and perhaps other taco seasonings. Once the base is done I'd add taco meat (made without the seasoning packets, of course!) a bit of cheese and then lettuce, tomatoes and perhaps some cilantro. MMMMmmmm

I make this recipe in my pyrex glass dish that's bigger than 13 x 9, and the crust comes out thinner and I like it that way!!! Once I forgot to add the 2 cups of cheese to the bottom of pan before pouring the crust in. It came out fine, but the crust was thinner and cooked faster.

Last year somewhere I remember reading that someone (Cleo, perhaps?) used the base but added legal alfredo sauce and other things and made it into a "white pie".

                      This recipe is very flexible!!

                              Bump!

I made this this weekend. I cut in half the amount of cheese sprinkled on top, because there was already so much dairy in it. For toppings, I used sliced tomatoes, thinly sliced olives, hot sausage, and pepperoni. I skipped the sauce to save on some carbs. This was amazing. Hubby loved it too. I ate 2 pieces, and he at 6! Boy was it good. Oh, I almost forgot, we drizzled it with garlic butter after it was done baking. Yum!!!
