    Substitute for Canned Soup

    Hi,

In the past I often used canned condensed soups like, cream of mushroom or cream of chicken, in recipes. These soups have quite a few carbs and also have wheat flour high up in the ingredient list. Does anyone have suggestins to substitute these?

    Thank you, Miss Lee

Choose no-carb plain chicken broth (make sure there is no sugar or corn syrup added). Reduce to a third of its volume and further thicken by adding cream. Pureed low carb vegetables are another good thickener.

Since a couple of people asked, I wrote an article on making low carb soups. Take a peek in Low Carb Cooking Lessons.
