  • Homemade sugar free syrups

Has anyone made their own sugar free syrups? I'm having a hard time finding them and if the recipe I have works this will be quite a bit cheaper.
Here's the basic recipe, with variations for different flavours:

    1 cup water
1/2 tbsp extract (vanilla, maple, etc.)
1 tbsp liquid splenda, or 24 pkts
    1/2 tsp guar gum

Does anyone know if this will work?
    Thanks!
(and sorry if this is in the wrong place. It's my first time.)

So I was sitting at home, reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution when suddenly I went into a fit of sneezing.... turns out I'm allergic to dandr. (Ahahahaha)

I'm not sure about the proportions, not having made my own syrup, but I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work. The one thing is that if it's made with Splenda packets instead of liquid, it will have a carb content because of the filler.

As for having trouble finding ready-made syrups, if you're in the US you can order from www.davincigourmet.com or www.moninstore.com, or you can go to www.torani.com for a list of online sources for their s/f syrups.
