  • Flax Bread Induction Friendly?

I've done a search and haven't found out whether flax bread is OK on Induction. Sure sounds good. I'm planning to stay on Induction for a good long time (lots to lose - after first week 7 pounds, don't see a need to tamper with a good thing). Hubby may go to next step next week and know he would like it, too. Anyone know if flax bread is Induction Friendly?

If you make your own flax-bread using all induction friendly ingredients, then yes, it is induction friendly. Avoid the recipes that call for nuts or bake mix, instead use protein powder and other induction friendly options and you will be fine.

:nod The recipe I have has only Induction Friendly components but it does have 1/4 cup (4 TBL.) Splenda in it and that concerns me. Sweet Hubby and I have had a few caffeine-free, Splenda soft drinks during Induction and neither of us has had sweet cravings or seem to have stymied by the Splenda - I've lost 7 in one week, he 5. I may pass on the Flax Bread as I'm staying on Induction as strictly as I can but I think he would really like a slice a day. THanks for your help!

Make sure you use granulated splenda with that recipe, not a 1/4 cup of the packets (don't laugh, I have seen some people do it). Also check out something new called 'Stevia' which is availible at a lot of health food stores apparently, also a carb-free calorie free sweetener, but unlike powdered or granulated splenda, it does not use a dextrose base.

This week I made the bread without any sweetener. It does have a slightly bitter taste, especially the crust part, but I use it to make tuna or chicken salad sandwhiches and it is great.
