  • CHOCOLATE...please?

Does anyone have a chocolate recipe that is acceptable for induction? I am about to get my TOM and I have a huge craving that I think will get the best of me if I don't come up with something first. I've tried the "clouds", the atkins shakes, and the atkins bars. They are all gross!! I need a chocolate fix BAD!!!! :guns

Lots of sympathy on the PMS thingie. It's gotten the best of me a few times. I stick with the commercial chocolate bars, such as Russell Stovers, Carbo Lite, or Atkins Indulge.

Two things you should be aware of, though - sugar alcohols have a strong laxative effect and some sugar alcohols will impact blood sugar (and therefore Insulin) levels just like table sugar. Be very, very judicious with their use.

Hi - This might help you out

      CHEWY BROWNIES
      3 tbsp Atkins Baking Mix
      3 tbsp Cocoa Powder
      8 Splenda Packets
      1 tsp vanilla extract
      2-3 tbsp cream
      2 tbsp melted butter
      1 egg

Combine dry ingredients (if possible, sift together). Add butter, egg, vanilla, cream. Mix well. Mixture will be like a thick paste. Put batter in 4 greased muffin tins. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 315 degrees.

Carb count is about 2.5 per brownie.

When you're off induction, you can add in some chopped walnuts.

      Hope this helps!

Thanks guys!! I will definitely be trying those out. Went to a friends tonight and everyone was enjoying the most sinfully delicious looking chocolate cake and they were all oohing and aahing over it. It almost sent me over the edge. I don't have road rage...I have chocolate rage!!!

Watch out, that recipe is not induction acceptable as it contains the bake-mix. Chocolate by itself is risky business as it is technically a bean, but some consider it a spice....

If it comes down to it and you can't control yourself try making the cloud recipe and adding in some sugar free chocolate syrup such as Davinci's or the Atkins stuff.
