  • Soft Tortilla/Pitta Wraps

    Hi all !

I think that is what they are called .. I mean the soft ones that you put meat and salad in and you wrap up ...
Does anyone have a recipe for making them please ? I have made some disastrous attempts Some had too much egg and came out like an omelette and were quite horrible.
I have soya flour and flax flour.
Does anyone know if I can substitute soy protein isolate with soya flour ??
Also pitta bread type would be fine
    Thankx

    Jenny

In the 14 Day Induction Forum, there is a sticky thread called "Induction Recipe Basics". In it is a recipe for Atkins Revolution Rolls and a variation of that recipe for a wrap.

Jenny, Do you cook with soy flour? I think it has a nasty taste and that could be some of your problem. When I was in induction and still I often use just lettuce leaves as a wrap. The store bought low carb herb ones aren't bad either.

Lettuce wraps are good, but I really do like the the La Tortilla Factory Olive Oil tortillas. The white ones are 7 net carbs and sometimes I only use half of one.

They also have a tomato basil wrap and a rosemary one; slightly higher at 8-9 net carbs for those, but they all have a good taste and mouthfeel... and no transfats.

Let us know if you have better luck with a recipe for tortillas.
