  • Need recipe for dip

    Just wandering if anyone had any recipes for making dips to be used with veggies for between meal snacking.

    I like to mix roquefort or blue cheese with some cream ... I also love guacamole (minced avocado + onion + tomato + salt&pepper) ...... and also cream chesse with some garlic or minced fried onion ...... Hope it helps!

      1 TBL of Sour cream or Cream cheese
      1 TBL of Salsa

      Mix. Eat.

        Love Lisa's sour cream and salsa. Also love bock of cream cheese with some hot sauce or salsa poured over it. MMMMM.

        How bout a jar of artichoke hears, a can of spinach drained, a dash of garlic and a hunk of cream cheese microwaved together.mmmm..

        Ricotta cheese. I love plain, but my family prefers seasoning in it... herbs, cayenne, etc.

        Good old homemade ranch...

        will keep thinking...

          ARTICHOKE DIP

          1 cup mayonnaise

          1 cup grated parmesan cheese

          3 ounces cream cheese

          1 can artichokes, drained

          Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Pour into a shallow, greased baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until bubbling. Serve warm.

          BLT Dip

          1 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled

          1 cup mayonnaise

          1 cup sour cream
          1 tsp. seasoned salt

          1 tsp. onion powder

          2 medium tomatoes, seeded and finely chopped

          1. Combine all ingredients.

          2. Chill and serve

          Calories: 120, Fat: 12 g, Cholesterol: 14 mg, Sodium: 214 mg, Carbohydrates: 1 g, Fiber: 0 g, Protein: 2 g.

          HOT CRAB MEAT DIP

          16 ounces whipped cream cheese

          6 ounce can claw crab meat

          1 clove minced garlic

          2 tablespoons finely chopped onion

          Mix all ingredients, microwave about 2 minutes till bubbling. Great with pork rinds.

            A ridiculously simple dip is mayo and italian dressing....give it a try!

              Chicago Dip

              INGREDIENTS:
              • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
              • 1 cup sour cream
              • 1 cup mayonnaise
              • 3/4 cup chopped green onions
              • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
              • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
              • 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
              DIRECTIONS:
              In a large mixing bowl, combine spinach, sour cream, mayonnaise, green onions, parsley, lemon juice, and salt. Mix until well blended, then refrigerate.

                I also like to take sourcream and mix it with taco seasoning, I get a package of the seasoning from the grocery store that has no sugar or stach in it I think the brand name is Nick (or Mick?) Fowlers that is really good. or you can make your own.

                  I have a fantastic spinach/artichoke dip at home... and a crab dip - will post the recipes tonight!
