  • Ranch dressing from mix packet?

Is there something I could substitute for milk to make the Hidden Valley ranch dressing from the packet? Has anyone tried to do this and gotten a good flavor and consistency? I loooove this dressing and used to use it on everything! If I could have this, this diet would be so much easier for me! The bottled ranch and bottled lo-carb ranch tastes yucky to me.

    Thanks!

You should try making your own to avoid the high carb fillers that are in the mix. Use watered down cream to replace the milk.

    Ingredients:
    2 Tbls. dried dill
    1/4 cup onion powder (opt)
    1/4 cup garlic powder

    1 cup dried parsley
    1/2 cup onion salt (opt.)
    1/2 cup onion flakes

    How to Prepare:

    Homemade Ranch Dressing Mix
    Dry Salad Dressing Mix Version

Mix together and store in jar with tight lid.
Use for salad dressing or dip.

Add 2 Tbls. mix to 1 cup milk and 1 cup mayonaise.

Or try this other recipe. I prefer the second.

    Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons onion powder 2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 4 Tablespoons parsley flakes

    How to Prepare:

Store in air-tight container. Use 2 Tablespoons per 1 cup buttermilk (or 2/3 cup water, 1/3 cup cream and 1 teaspoon vinegar) and 1 cup mayonnaise.
