Check out atkins.com because I remember seeing "menu" for those two holidays last year.

I was going to post the same topic. I need some great ideas for next Wednesday. Most of my family is on the South Beach Diet... but I am going to make a kosher atkins friendly dinner. Or at least I tend to... I need some recipes!

I wish I understood the rules of kosher cooking better. As I recall you can't mix meat and milk and there is no pork allowed. Does that about sum it up?

I once made a yummy takeoff on gefilte fish without any matzoh. I pureed the fish, added spices and a bit of wheat protein isolate, and folded in well beaten egg whites. The texture was great, very light and fluffy.

Roast beef is always a festive dinner. To be fancy, try carving interesting shapes out of turnips and rutabagas and roasting them slowly in the beef drippings. Surround the roast of beef with the root vegetables for a festive presentation.

A whole cooked fish is another great presentation for the festival table. I enjoy salmon baked with tomatoes, fennel, capers and roasted artichoke hearts.

Noodle kugel with low carb pasta and Splenda maybe, topped with sugar free syrup? Sounds like an adaptable recipe.

are you looking for the honey apple cake recipe low carbed? Seems the topics from last yr have been removed i know there were some recipes in it for a brisket and a challah. You can use the low carb bagles for your fast breaking. Remember Atkins is your way of life now and as your way of life it must incorporate your spiritual beleifs and religious practices too. So don't be too concerned with the carbs as you provide nurishment for your spirit at theis high holy time of yr. You can low carb the honey apple cake just so much.

I never really know what I am going to eat for breakfast AFTER Yom Kippur. I don't think I would want to be in the state of mind thinking I am going to have extremely yummy flax pancakes the next morning when I am going to be fasting for 30 hours (Literally, that's how long our services are and how inept waitresses are....) Anyway, just eat what you normally eat, you know? That's what I do. Just make sure it's nice and kosher. Already got my meal planned out before. MMmmmm, steak....and salad. Mum is making the low carb lasagna, but I think the spaghetti squash is disgusting and so is the whole thing. Ewwie. So, I'll be putting steak on the grill for me. Muahahahaha. Yeah.

Happy fasting! ^_^ L'shana Tova, Sweetie!
