  • Requesting Crock pot recipes.

I am away from the house for such long hours I would love to get some low-carb crock pot recipes! I have a few, but I would love more variety! Already have a pot roast that DH raves over, tried pork this week and we loved it! anything would be helpful...

    Thanks!!!

don't really have a recipe but I do carolina BBQ in the crockpot either chicken or pork with 1/4 cup vinager, 1/2 cup water, 1t red pepper, 1-3 cloves of garlic and cook all day. salt and pepper to taste add hot sause as needed, and then cook on high one hour before serving to reduce the liquids. If you need a more traditional sauce add 1 small can of tomato sauce and some mustard. if it is too tangy add some sweetener of choice.

I make chilie in the crockpot with my regular recipe. I just brown 1 pound ground beef in the frying pan first and then stick it all in the crockpot on low all day with 1 onion, 2 peppers of choice, 1 can tomotoes, chili powder 1-4 teaspoons depending on heat wanted, and 2 cups water. I like it hot so I add extra rep pepper and I use habeneros.

Oh my gosh 2big!! Habeneros??? No wonder you had such great success with your weight loss..the habeneros melted everything!! *HOT HOT HOT*!!!

I can barely stand mild pepper rings! LOL! Although my sister in law makes this out-of-this-world hot mustard that I just love...it burns your mouth something awful, but its addictive as heck! Mustard in one hand, ice water in the other! LOL! I think the recipe does have some sugar in it though...will have to ask her to be sure...she normally gives me a jar or two every year, but so far she hasnt made any this year.

Is it French Onion Soup or Pot Roast?! MMMMMMMM Good!

              Recipe Name
              French Onion Soup/Pot Roast
Posted by MiRedKitty Serves: 2 if you share!
CarbsPerServing: Maybe 5? Carbs for Onion, Cheese and LC Bread
              Prep Time: Minimal
              Effort: Easy

              --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
              Ingredients:
2 lb (or more) Pot Roast Beef Broth to cover, then double amount
              Mozzarella Cheese
2 LC Bread Slices (Preferrably Pumpernickel) 1 medium onion or 2 smallGarlic/Garlic Powder to taste
              Black Pepper to taste

              How to Prepare:
TWO MEAL DEAL! Pot Roast one night/french onion soup the next! In a crock pot, add roast (I use English Beef Roast), add 1/2 medium or 1 small onion, garlic or garlic powder, black pepper (to taste) and beef broth to cover. Cook on low for 8 -10 hours. For pot roast, your good to go with a salad and even some gravy with 1 cup of broth and some Thicken-Thin-Not (low carb starch-like thickener)to make gravy! For French Onion Soup, remove roast and add enough beef broth to double what was originally added to cover roast, add beef boullion if necessary to make stronger broth. Saute in butter, another 1/2 medium or 1 small onion, slice thin, until translucent. Add onion and even a little bit of the roast in small pieces. Toast low carb Rye bread, place in bottom of bowl or crock, sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, add soup and top with more cheese. Microwave or broil until melted and ENJOY! This was a recipe shared with me by a woman in the office and as soon as she told me about it, my mouth started watering! IT'S FANTASTIC! Two meals for the work of one! BONUS! You won't believe the taste! Pass on the LC Bread and make this recipe even lower in carbs.

I sent them on. I hope that they come through. I would copy and past them to the board but that would be a ton of pages for one post.

                      DELICIOUS

I tried your onion soup the other day and it was glorious; I was in heaven. I have a 2qt crockpot so I ended up using stew meat that I had seared before sticking in the crockpot but otherwise it came out delicious! The second day I sauteed the onions, but because I did it early in the am I wasn't thinking and I just dumped the whole pan, onions and grease straight into my pot. About four hours later, I went to taste it and all I could taste was the grease! It was awful... ::shudder:: but that's my own stupid fault.

God, it was delicious the other day though; thank you for the recipe.

the other day I poured in some chicken broth, some cut up celery, garlic, onion, and some chicken thighs, then seasoned it with seasoning salt and pepper. It turned out absolutely fabulous. The broth was so savory, warm, and comforting, and I even pulled apart the chicken and made some chicken salad. I love my crockpot. I just need a bigger one.

                            Ducki.

I realise that you probably have plenty of ideas now following the recipe email, but I thought I would add this one to it.........

I found a recipe in one of my Atkins cook books for Beof Borgignone (sp). Basically telling me to simmer when cooked for 30 minutes. I followed recipe but put it into my crock pot for 5 hours on low and it was absolutely fantastic......

Just thought you might like to know
