  • What about SlowCooker Recipes

I know that we're doing soup recipes and I still can't find the Shrimp Bisque recipe that sounded so wonderful in the Paula Magazine that I bought and lost But I just dusted off my Slow Cooker and was wondering if folks have a favorite Slow COoker recipe that they would like to share.
I have a Pizza Chicken Recipe that I made last year.
    Chicken thighs, salt and pepper
    Sliced Onion
    2 Bell Peppers, sliced
    2 cups low-carb pizza sauce
and a cup of Mozzarella Cheese. It also calls for a package of pasta, but I didn't use it, instead I added some cup up pepperoni to the mix and it was really good. Instead of the pasta to serve it over, I served it with frozen then nuked cauliflower
PS Canned Pizza sauce has a variety of carbs so label reading is very important.

Dana Carpender's recipes for slow cooker roasted nuts! The recipes are in the Food Chat section.

Otherwise, I kinda toss stuff in and see what happens. My boss gave me rough instructions for a whole chicken soup. Yep, you guess it! 1 whole chicken, a couple bay leaves, a few peppercorns, salt, celery, onion (and a carrot if you want). Cover with water. Cook until the chicken is done. Remove the chicken, shred it and return to the soup. I also removed the celery and onion, pureed that and returned it to the soup to give it more body. Then I added alittle "new" sliced celery and onion.

Really ironic that you should ask this...I just stopped over my friends house and was flipping through a slowcooker recipe book...lol...I'll try to find some good ones ,to "convert" if necessary, and give a shout out later...

I LOOOOOVE COOKING IN MY CROCKPOT!

Scratch that...the cookbook wasn't very good (didn't care for the recipes) I'll try to find a good link on the net, I have a couple...once I get home, I'll share it.

Just for you Desertthorn hope this is the one you are looking for, I found it in her kitchen classics cookbook.

        Shrimp Bisque

1 10 3/4 oz can condensed cream of chicken soup
2 12 oz cans evaporated milk
        2 Tablespoons buteer
1/2 lb. cooked shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
        Dash of Worcestershire sauce
        Dash of Tobasco
1/4 cup sherry, or to taste

In top of double boiler, heat soups, milk and butter over boiling water. Add shrimp, Worcertershire sauce, and Tobasco. Stir in sherry to taste. Continue cooking until desired temperature. Great served plain or over steamed rice. Makes 6-8 servings.
