  • Wahoo and conch

Anyone have any low carb recipes for Wahoo or conch? I'm still on induction, but even if you only have OWL recipes that will be fine as these are things we get pretty regularly.

I've always marinated the wahoo in teriaki, which I guess isn't too bad (2 carbs) since its being grilled so alot probably burns off???? but it definitly not induction friendly.

As for the conch...I know fritters and I know cracked. I was thinking of trying crack without the flour, maybe just the seasoning and seeing how that is deep fried. I do have some soy flour but thought it would probably be icky tasting..haven't had the cajones to try it yet.

    Re: Wahoo and conch

conch salad!!! it is fantastic if you need an exact recipe I will post one later in the recipe forum but for now just dice up fresh raw conch then add lemon or lime to coat (remember to count the carbs) dice a sweet onion, a habanero or scotch bonnet pepper, a little garlic, some chile, cumin, salt and fresh cracked pepper....toss well to marinate and leave for a couple of hours in the frig...before serving I toss some fresh chopped cilantro into it

another good one if you have a surplus of conch (I can not imagine being so lucky!) is to grind it into burgers! season with the same stuff as above but less moisture make patties and fry them!.....

there are entire conch cookbooks and tons of recipes online!....send me some if you can not use it all up!!!...

No, they don't sell it here :no but I'm sure I can do without it or I can pick some up when I go to the states next month.

I did find an awesome sounding recipe for wahoo, and it looks low carb friendly except for mango's. Once I'm past induction a mango salsa would be okay right, as long as I watch the total carbs for the day right? I can always skip the salsa part (although it sounds really good!) and just do the fish. Its coated in egg and chopped up (fine) mac nuts. Yum!
