Ive been really sick and made the mistake of taking my medicine this morning before I ate my breakast (like 2 mins before but it was a dumb mistake) Anyways, 5 minutes after I was done eating my stomach began killing me and I could barely stand up! I called my boyfriends mom because she is a nurse and she told me it would just go away in a bit but if it really hurt to help speed along the process to eat a piece of bread to absorb the acid and what not in my stomach. I didnt want to and tried to ignore the pain for a good 25 mins but it wouldnt stop so I ate a piece of bread (19g carbs) and now feel awful (guilty wise- my stomach pains went away instantly) So i was just asking if anyone knew of no carb receipes so I can still be on the lower end today!

Your boyfriend's mom gave you bad advice. For most medications, it doesn't matter what kind of food you eat with it---as long as your stomach has something in it to buffer the medication. So you could have eaten a piece of cheese or a scrambled egg and it would have done the same thing.
Take this as a learning experience and follow your Atkins with your very next meal. You ate a piece of bread---by now your body has already reacted to the sugar in that bread. So there's not much you can do but make sure your next meal is an Atkins one.
See that is what I thought but I decided to listen to her because she knows what shes talking about (granted i didnt tell her i was on atkins so it was my mistake). I was going to post on here before I did but I was in a lot of pain. Oh well I will just be very careful in the future-live and learn right? I will continue of course with my next meal- believe me i felt awful with every bite i took AND actually kindof gagged eating it.. haha my mental state is complete atkins!

Also, if she was really worried about extra acid in your stomach, she should have told you to take an antacid, like Maalox or sodium bicarbonate, or even take activated charcoal (it absorbs toxins).
Like I said, take this as a learning experience. Eat your planned Atkins meals for the rest of the day.
