I'm new to pressure cooking, but I love it! Does anyone have any recipes that they'd like to share? Thanks.

Re: Does anyone use a pressure cooker?
I use my preasure cooker! Hummm, recipes. Sometimes to be fast I will cook a whole chicken in the preasure cooker. I will cut up the chicken to be used in salads, chicken salad, etc. Or I will divide the chicken up and finishing frying in a pan. Mummm, yummy chicken skin! I also will do all sorts of roasts in it. I sear the meat in a frying pan with butter/olive oil and salt/peper. Then follow directions in preasure cooker.
Franks mom makes all sorts of soups and stews in hers. Not sure how exactly though.
http://www.recipezaar.com/recipes.ph...ressure-cooker has a lot of recipes for the pressure cooker. Of course you will have to see yourself which ones are low carb.Maggie(F) age 31

Re: Does anyone use a pressure cooker?
No, don't be. The new style ones are extremely safe. Not like the jiggle top ones that everyone's grandmother used. Meat cooks so fast. Cauliflower too! Perfect for Atkins. I think tonight I'll make beef stroganoff. I'm not sure how to serve it...maybe over shredded zucchini or maybe cauliflower. Really, they're very quiet, very safe, very fast.Originally posted by higgiesI'm scared of pressure cookers...

Count me in the scared of pressure cookers club! The only time ours gets used is when my hubby makes stuffed artichokes.

Now there are digital pressure cookers.... electric pressure cookers. They are a lot different than the ones you guys are remembering.
Look at some of these...

Re: Does anyone use a pressure cooker?
I love the pressure cooker for stews, ox tail, ribs, pot roasts. It's fast and tenderizes very well. Before and after:

Re: Does anyone use a pressure cooker?
Here's the kind I have http://fagoramerica.com/fagor/pressurecookers.htm I have the duo combi set that has two pots, one pressure lid and one regular glass lid that are interchangeable. I used the big one with the steamer basket for my cauliflower last night. The cheapie ones that you'll find do not always go to 15psi which is the standard and what recipes are written for. The Fagor is one of the cheaper new generation ones that has all the new safety features.

Re: Does anyone use a pressure cooker?
I have a digital pressure cooker that I bought from QVC and absolutely love it! I would highly recommend it. Honestly, they're very safe now and you almost can't make a mistake. I think I'll be using it a lot on Atkins.
