  • Ways to Cook Chicken?

    Hi everyone,

I'm on induction, and am looking for ways to cook chicken. Not elaborate ways by any means, but more just along the lines of a flavorful way to season (most often) skinless chicken breasts.

I would also like to cook them in a frying pan, but other options can be done.

    Thanks so much!

    Re: Ways to Cook Chicken?

One of my favorite induction ways to cook chicken, is to cut it into chunks. Bread with egg and parmesan cheese. Fry in a frying pan. Yummmmmm! It stays moist and the parmesan adds tons of flavor. My husband likes it better that regular breaded chicken!

Hm wow that sounds great actually! What kind of oil do you use to fry? And can you use the parmesan cheese that comes in the can?

I use whatever oil I have on hand, veg or olive. I always use the cheese out of a can! Sometimes I get fancy and add in a little fresh grated to the canned variety. And sometimes I add in a little garlic powder for extra flavor. Always a big hit at my house! Hope you like it!

I like chicken thighs because they don't dry out like breasts do. Unless you abosolutely char them, they're still moist and tender.

I marinate them in italian dressing and throw them on the grill or pan fry them.

Alternately, a little garlic, ginger, soy sauce and sesame oil makes a great marinade.

Oh, I love chicken...and thighs are popular in my house, mostly because they're on the cheap side

I make chicken fajitas, chicken salad (grinding up the chicken), and use ground chicken for taco salads. Sometimes I think I might start clucking or growing feather.

              Re: Ways to Cook Chicken?

              2Tbl dried tomato flakes
              1Tbl dried basil
              1Tbl dried garlic
              pinch of salt
2 Tbl Taragon vinegar or White vinegar
              1/4c water
              1/4c olive oil

Mix all ingredients together in a large bottomed bowl to be used as a marinade. Once you add the chicken cover the bowl.

Marinaed up to 4 boneless/skinless chicken breast halves for 1 hour or longer (I marinade for 12+ hours) in the fridge and grill the chicken or bake it.
A few minutes before the chicken it done use the leftover marinade as a baste or sprinkle a little more basil and tomato flakes on top (do not flip after basting or sprinkling extra seasoning).

I usually serve this dish with fried green tomatos or asparagus w/ garlic butter. It really adds to the flavor of the chicken.

                Re: Ways to Cook Chicken?

personally I like dry rubs made with spices such as a moroccan one made with cumin, coriander, nutmeg, caraway seed, lemon and onion or cajun made with onion and garlic powder, cayenne and smoked paprika (smoked paprika makes everything taste good!)

I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a Thai green curry: if you can get a jar of green curry paste, it literally only needs to be thrown in a wok with the chicken, some veggies (whatever you like) and a can of coconut milk (the creamier the better!) - yum!

I like to deep fry chicken wings and sprinkle a mixture of salt and five spice powder over them (half salt, half 5 spice).

                    Re: Ways to Cook Chicken?

Great post - I've lots of new ideas now on how to cook chicken!

Couple of things I do - I buy bags of chicken breasts in bulk, then put a standard marinage of olive oil, lemon juice and garlic onto them, before freezing them in the marinade.
When the chicken defrosts, the marinade gets to work. It really makes them tender.

I also wrap chicken in parma ham before roasting. It keeps the chicken really moist. If i feel decadent or need the calories, I stuff the chicken breast with cheese before wrapping with the parma ham.

Yesterday I roasted my chicken with some chorizo and it was so good. It made the chicken really smokey.

I like to take chicken tenders, roll them in crushed pork rinds, fry them in olive oil, and then dip them in ranch dressing. MMM! Yum.

                        Re: Ways to Cook Chicken?

last night i got a chicken breast - butterflied it open, stuffed some motserella cheese, pesto and sundried tomatoes in it, closed it, wrapped it with procuito and fried it.

                        Best thing i've ever eaten
