I can't believe I paid $6.00 for 3/4 oz of these dried mushrooms. Now I don't know what to do with them. Any suggestions? Besides reconstituting them and frying in butter, how do you eat them?

Re: Morels
I used to make a gorgeous dish with fettucini and morels....... but that was then!
However even without the pasta it would be delicious. Basically you just fry a little onion in butter until it begins to brown, add the morels and then a couple of minutes later some cooked asparagus. Season with black pepper, salt and tarragon and a squeeze of lemon, sprinkle a little parmesan on top and that's it. It's simple but divine. Morels and asparagus are a match made in heaven.Kate

Re: Morels
I think that they might make a wonderful addition to the cauliflower "fauxtatoes" or even a spaghetti squash alfredo would benefit from them. When I think of morels I think of an addition to a risoto, so any of our carb friendly pasta/rice substitutes could be good. Ooh - or as part of a sauce poured over a good steak. Or in an omelette....or scrambled eggs, with a maybe some herb cheese...
I should not have looked at this post after dinner. Now I am hungry again!
