  • Lobster?

    Hubby has been averaging 70 hours for the last two weeks, and as a surprise, brought me home a 2# lobster (he doesn't eat lobster)
    I need a recipe to go with it for veggies that won't overwhelm the lobster flavor. I don't want to ruin a once-a-year-if-I'm-lucky treat!!!!





    290 lbs. on 11/02/07 Goal: 145 lbs. or size 14 whichever comes first!

    I really like the lobster taste, so I would boil it with some seasonings and butter in the water. Theeen I would melt some butter, to dip it into--I guess you would have to season it. And I would make veggies on the side.
    I'm no help, but lobster sounds so good.
    Mmmm...okay, I have to go eat breafast! lol

      I'm in the same camp with Hoping---boil and eat with butter. But other people "fancy up" their lobster by splitting it, searing it and adding tomato based sauces to it. Frankly, I think all that other stuff masks the taste of the lobster....

        Well I live on the coast of Maine and here you can get lobster in just about anything from quiche to omlettes to icecream(I don't suggest that....I never liked it!!) But I think most people like to have it right out of the shell with some butter (I like vinegar with mine too!!) Have your veggies on the side! Also try a lobster alfredo sacue with some spaghetti sauce! You could also mix it with mayo and put on a green salad! There are so many ways to enjoy it so go ahead and enjoy it!!

          Yes, I only eat my lobster untainted with anything but real butter. What i wanted was a bland vegetable recipe. I gave up and ate my lobster without any vegetables. My husband had already named him Larry the Lobster, and when I called hubby at work this morning, he said Larry was looking forward to having dinner with me. So I had poor Larry for dinner this morning, with only butter as an accompaniment(sp?)
          I can pretend to feel guilty about that if need be
