  • What to use instead of Atkins Bake Mix

I have already looked thru the Low Carb Lessons section - and I can't find any recipes or brands I can buy so I am not limited to using the Atkins one.

Does anyone have any recipes or suggestions of what to buy?

And, do you use the substitute just as you would the Atkins Bake Mix when it comes to recipes?

I use whey protein isolate as a substitute.

My low carb baking is limited to Atkins Revolution Rolls and an occasional BikerGoddess pizza crust. I find that adding a 1/4 cup of the whey powder gives these egg based recipes a more "sturdy" texture.

When I move into the grains rung, I'll probably substitute the whey powder with vital wheat gluten instead.

          Yeeees!!! that´s what I miss.
I saw a pizza recipe in the recipe´s post that looks great! and I´m tired of eggs + cream "to cheat myself".
I´ll try to find the power this week.

so does that mean if i see a recipe for say, 1 cup of Atkins Bake Mix, I can use 1 cup of Whey Protein Isolate?

Is this ready made stuff and is it cheaper than the Atkins Bake Mix?

I just posted a different thread about chile rellenos. Do you think whey protien would work with egg for a chile relleno "batter". I'm planing to stuff the rellenos with cheese and some chorizo. I have a fixation with making a low-carb version. Thanks for your help, v.
