I normally, saute them in onion & garlic then add in diced tomatoes & mushrooms. I add some seasonings like basil, oregano & ALWAYS garlic salt & pepper. It's my way of avoiding the pastas with sauce. Gives us the italian dinner without all the extra carbage.
