salt fish recipes

i'm especially looking for a recipe to replace fish cakes that I would usually make with mashed potatoes.

I haven't tried it, but you can try replacing the mashed potatoes with mashed turnips instead.

Maybe even mashed cauliflower.

I haven't made them recently - I buy them premade if the family wants them (and I do without)
