I know this may sound weird, but I tossed in string cheese and celery sticks in a ziploc baggie to take with me to the airport to pick up my FIL (and will do the same tomorrow when I take him back). I think of it as packing a sack lunch only it's just packing small snacks. Now, if you're really want something that's good and borderline addicting, I've put in about a handful of pork rinds in a ziploc baggie, 1 pkt of splenda, and a shake or two of cinnamon. Then I shake that up really good and I've got my own personal crunch to toss in my purse.
Hope that helps

I keep a pack of sunflower seeds, peanuts and a slim jim in me glovebox. All the above are single serving packages. Just in case, never know when you might break. I would think that the cheese would spoil fast, especially with the heat fast approaching. God Bless, Joe
Individually wrapped string/stick cheese wouldn't go bad, even over several days. Cheese is aged over a period of time while not refrigerated. I am old enough to remember when the Country Stores had a big wheel of cheese on the counter to be cut as bought. It had a wax rind over the uncut part, but the rest was exposed to the air. It was in a wooden box.
People who say it can't be done, should not interrupt those doing it.
