  • Ways to use psyllium husks

I have bought a bag of psyllium husks to try to keep everything moving...if you know what I mean...anyway I was wondering if anyone has any recipes that incorperate the husks. I tried the pancake recipe I found on the Aussie thread they were ok but maybe a bit eggy for me. Think I will try them as a savoury pancake next time with a bit of chopped up bacon and maybe zuchiini or capsicum and mushrooms...... I enjoy trying new recipes so any suggestions would be great.

If you do a search of the recipe forums, you should find a recipe for psyllium pancakes written by Naja.

Otherwise, the times I've used psyllium husks was to thicken things. For example, about a tablespoon of it simmered in a cup of broth. That makes a decent base for a brothy Asian style soup like hot and sour or wonton-less wonton soup.
