George Stella's site has a good Bourbon BBQ sauce. If you aren't to that rung, leave the bourbon out for now. He is a checf and has some great recipes.
My own favorite is to soak the chicken in 1/2 cider vinegar, 1/2 water for about 4 hours, then drain and sprinkle liberally with garlic powder, pepper, paprika, onion powder, Italian seasonings. Then grill. It stays moist inside, has a terrific flavor and is totally legal.
