  • Jicama Recipes

I'm planning on trying this again very soon. The only time I've ever had it it was sliced raw in a salad. If I remember correctly it had the texture of an apple.

Any suggestions for other ways of preparing it? Thanks in advance.

I think if you try the search engine you'll find some great recipes. Brook posted one for mock apple pie, 2big makes french fries from them. I slice it with lemon or lime juice and sprinkle it with salt. Yumm. It is kinda a cross between a potato and an apple. Not as sweet as an apple, but as juicy. Not as grainy as a potato, but firm like one. ENJOY

i made a jicama salad with some cucumber ..

i julienned both of them and made a dressing of mayo and red wine vinegar. the vinegar gave the jicame that extra tartness it needed. i can't eat apples anymore, so this was a fabulous treat.

if i remember correctly, it is induction friendly, and delicious when ice cold

        Jicima

Slice them...arrange on plate...squeeze lime juice over them and lightly sprinkle with chili powder.
